I think Burroway makes a valid point when she says people like to talk about themselves. It covers techniques of fiction writing, creative non fiction, poetry and drama.
Excellent smart overview of writing fiction and memoir, written with the imaginatiev student in mind. I don’t personally like the break-down of image, voice, etc. The explanations are clear. At the end of each chapter, there are short stories, short pieces of creative non fiction, poems and short drama scripts.

Between the exercises, the example literature at burrowwy ends of chapters, and the detailed appendix, there really isn’t much time to spend on any particular genre.
